Mercedes O'Bryant-Gruzeski was introduced to the world of child welfare and private adoption in 2011, when she chose to pursue adoption for her daughter at the age of twenty. This experience taught her the trials and tribulations when advocating for the best life for her daughter. Since then, she has spent the past decade advocating and working to reconnect youth and families that are engaged with the child welfare system. Mercedes has been a volunteer CASA, helped women who were dealing with domestic violence, served as a foster care case manager, Wendy's Wonderful Kids Recruiter, and most recently, graduated from the Minority Professional Leadership Development program (MPLD).
